Kerb / Upstand Options
Kerbs / Upstands are used to keep the glazed section of the rooflight off of the roofs surface. Current building regulations state that the kerb must protrude at least 150mm above the finished roof surface. They are typically made of PVC, however a builder could alternatively build a kerb using timber and a polycarbonate dome could simply be secured on top of it.

Sometimes a builder may wish to build the kerb out of timber and simply secure a polycarbonate dome or glass rooflight on top of it. As long as we at least have the overall kerb size including the weathering membrane fitted to it, we will then be able to supply a polycarbonate dome on its own from either our Thermadome range or our Stardome range. |
